Dan Rubin has been a partner at BRS since 1995, working mainly in high tech. When he was on the client side at Apple Computer, he found himself increasingly impressed with the power of qualitative research to mine compelling insights and understanding, and with its effectiveness at uniting engineering and marketing teams around a common understanding of the customer. He was hooked, and eventually joined BRS.

Dan's projects cover a broad range of technology (and other) topics. His strengths include: New product and concept development, positioning and branding, usability, naming and B2B research.

Prior to his six years at Apple (in customer research and product marketing positions), Dan was Research Manager at the technology analysis and forecasting firm Dataquest (now Gartner Dataquest) for 5 years. Dan spent 5 years at SRI International as a management consultant to technology companies. Dan earned a BA in Anthropology from UC Berkeley and an MBA from San Francisco State University.
